Mark Selby

Nashville-based Mark Selby returns to his Kansas roots to be inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 5, 2016, in ceremonies at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, Kansas. Selby will be honored for the scope of his career as hit songwriter, musician and artist, as well as for for his years living and touring throughout Kansas. His much-loved backup band from Kansas days, The Sluggers, will also be inducted and will join Selby for a reunion performance at the event. Several 2016 Hall of Fame inductees will perform at the ceremonies; Selby will begin solo acoustic and then be joined by the Sluggers (Craig Balderston – bass, Mike Ward – drums, Dave ‘the Wave’ Wiggins – percussion) in a 30-minute set, which will feature songs from throughout Selby’s career. A few of Selby’s hit tunes are promised, along with ‘Wheatfield Boogie’, the title track from his 1990 album with the Sluggers.

The Kansas Music Hall of Fame Ceremony and concert is open to the public and promises to be an exciting night of music and memories. Tickets are $25 and are available from Ticketmaster or at the Liberty Hall box office on show day (cash only). Doors open at 6:30 for the 7pm event on Saturday, March 5.
